The Comoros facts

The Islands of Comoros have around 320 kmІ of territorial seas.
The interiors of the land vary from high mountains and low hills. Generally, the climate is mild and tropic and the two major seasons it has are relatively rainy.

The Comoros Archipelago is rich in volcanic activity. Mount Karthala is the country’s highest point, at 2,361 m or 7748 ft. It also sits the Comoros largest patch of its disappearing rain forest.

The Comoros’ official religion is Islam and over 99 percent of its population is made up of Sunni Moslems. Around 1,300 of the population are Christians. The official languages of the island are French and Arabic while the majority of the people speak Comoran, the mixture of the Arabic and Swahili language.
